American rapper, Daniel Hernandez, popularly known as 6ix9ine, has been hospitalised after being attacked by a group of men in the bathroom of a gym in South Florida on Tuesday.

According to his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, the 26-year-old sustained injuries on his face and bruises, TMZ reports on Wednesday.

Lazzaro told TMZ that the rapper was inside the bathroom at an LA Fitness gym when several guys suddenly attacked him without warning.

The lawyer said 6ix9ine tried to fight off the combatants, but there were too many of them, beating him to a pulp before fleeing.
