The Kannywood industry is in mourning following the death of popular Hausa singer, El-Mu’az Muhammad Birniwa.

The news of his passing was confirmed early Thursday by Abba El-Mustapha, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, via a Facebook post.

El-Mu’az reportedly collapsed on Wednesday while playing football in Kaduna and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

He was laid to rest after the funeral prayer held 1:00 pm on Thursday at the Zangon Daura mosque in Kaduna.

Hailing from Birniwa in Jigawa State, El-Mu’az Muhammad was a well-respected figure in the Kannywood industry, where he made significant contributions to its growth and development.

Tributes have begun pouring in from fans, colleagues, and members of the entertainment industry, celebrating his talent and dedication to his craft.
