Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state on Monday signed a MoU between him, Barrister Razak Atunwa, Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the labour leaders in the state.

Okay Nigeria had earlier reported that the governor has approved the release of funds for payment of one month salary for Local Government workers, pensioners and SUBEB workers.

The signing of the agreement was a reflection of his firm commitment to ensuring that labour force continues to receive the needed attention in the state, pointing out that any arrears that would not be paid by him would be paid by his successor.

“under no guise should any worker be made to suffer due to non collection of salaries,” the governor during signing of the MoU said.

He assured the labour force that the PDP governorship candidate would give them necessary attention if elected on the second of March governorship election in the state.

However, Hon. Razak Atunwa, Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), thanked Governor Ahmed and the labour force for ensuring industrial harmony in the state.

Comrade Yekini Agunbiade and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Kola Olumuh said in separate statements that the labour movement was happy that Hon. Atunwa deemed it fit to meet the unions and promised that the two parties remain committed to the pact.

They also assured Hon. Razak Atunwa of the support of workers in the state to enable him emerge victorious in the poll.
