At least 60 individuals have been reported kidnapped by bandits in Buba village, situated within the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday as unsuspecting villagers slept.

Although the police authorities have yet to confirm the attack, Abubakar Buda, the Councilor representing the ward, provided insights into the harrowing ordeal. Buda revealed that the bandits, numbering in large groups, descended upon the community, systematically moving from house to house to abduct residents. Amidst the chaos, gunshots rang out sporadically, plunging the village into a state of terror.

The swift intervention of military personnel helped thwart further abductions, although several community members sustained injuries while attempting to flee from the assailants.

In response to the alarming situation, security operatives have been deployed to the area to forestall additional attacks by the marauding bandits, aiming to restore calm and ensure the safety of residents.

This recent assault in Kajuru comes on the heels of a similar attack merely five days prior, when bandits raided Kuriga community in the Chikun Local Government Area. During that incident, 287 students from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School were abducted, highlighting the persistent threat posed by criminal elements in the region.
