Zamfara: 16 persons killed, 14 injured in fresh bandits’ attack

Armed bandits attacked a community in Kanoma district, Maru local government area of Zamfara state.

Okay.ng understands that 16 persons were killed and 14 injured during the attack that occurred on Tuesday, May 4th.

The Director-General on Media to the state governor, Yusuf Idris, confirmed the attack in a statement on Wednesday.

He disclosed that “the governor visited the community and sympathised with them”.

Furthermore, he said:

“During the visit, the governor also directed security agencies to immediately “swing” into action and bring the perpetrators to book.

‘The governor also directed the movement of 14 persons, who sustained injuries from gun shots from Kanoma General Hospital, to the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, for better medical care.

“The bill should be charged to the state government.”
