“Mr. President, you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It won’t stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero,” it said in a statement by its spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo.

Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, has said it is aware of a plan by the Federal Government to purchase drones as part of efforts to stop it from attacking oil facilities in the Niger Delta.

The group, however, warned that the plan would be a waste of time as it won’t stop them from carrying on with their activities.

“Mr. President, you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It won’t stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero,” it said in a statement by its spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo.

“The worse you can do is to kill poor innocent people which the military is good at but know the Nigeria Economy will suffer.”

The group said it had gathered intelligence, which showed that claims by the Federal Government that it was willing to hold talks with militants in the oil-rich region were deceptive.

“The said peace talk or dialogue by the Federal Government is a delay tactic employed by the Federal Government, to enable their purchased drones that are said to arrive latest (at the) end of August from the United State,” it said.

Bragging that the drones won’t stop it, the Niger Delta Avengers threatened to stop the export of crude from the Niger Delta.

“Just intensify the oil exploration in the North East; as for the ones in the Niger Delta forget about it because the Nigeria government won’t export a drop from our land,” it said.

It added that although its finding showed that the government was not serious about having a dialogue with militants, the situation is made to look like the group is the one against talks.
