YOUR COMMENTS ARE UNBECOMING OF A PRESIDENT-ELECT – NPBTCO

A group, National Peace Building and Conflict Reconciliation Organisation (NPBCTO), has
advised President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to exercise restraint in making comments.

NPBTCO said the counsel became necessary as Buhari’s recent utterances and those of his party,
the All Progressives Congress (APC) were capable of creating fear and disharmony among Nigerians who voted for him.

Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, Bishop of God Worshippers Assembly Worldwide and the
National Presiding Bishop of Ecumenical Apostolic Church, Nigeria, spoke on behalf of the group to newsmen shortly after their meeting at Obiaruku in
the Ukwuani Local Government area of Delta State.

Nmalagu observed that the APC and Buhari seem to have thrown caution to the wind after their
victory by making all kinds of comments.

He said such attitude will not move the country forward and will make Nigerians come to the conclusion that the incoming government was bent on witch-hunting political opponents.

NPBTCO particularly frowned at the statement credited to the Buhari and the APC that the
economic and social development of Nigeria for 16 years of democracy were 16 years of waste.

Insisting that such statement was “unbecoming of President–elect of Nigeria”, the group urged Buhari
“to be selective in his statements, most especially in criticising the outgoing government and the ruling party”.
