XBox One X is the 2017 refresh of the XBox One. This time the gaming console is being boosted with more power. It offers an even more compact design than the XBox One S with better 4k gaming support. XBox One X comes with an Ultra-HD Blu Ray player with support for 4K HDR media content and HDR 10.

The Design

XBox One X offers a more compact design compared to the XBox One S and the original XBox One. Microsoft is yet to release details, but the console will be thinner and cover a smaller volume compared to earlier models.

The XBox One X may be available in multiple colours, but for now only the black model have been revealed by Microsoft. You also get three USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI ports (HDMI 2.0b out and HDMI 1.4b in), dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. XBox One X also has a Ethernet, S/PDIF audio, and an IR blaster.

XBox One X also has a built-in power supply like the One S, but has added a more advanced cooling system to ensure optimum performance.

Performance

The One S offered marginal improvement hardware-wise compared to the original console, the XBox One X is however getting a major boost. It is Microsoft’s answer for the Sony PS4 Pro. The new 8-core custom AMD CPU now clocks at 2.3GHz per core compared to 1.75GHz in the older model.

XBox One X is also coming with 12GB RAM, 50% more memory than the 8GB RAM offering of the One S console. This two features combined makes the console very powerful with the promise of true 4K gaming according to Microsoft.

The gaming console boasts of up to 6 TFLOP, which is more than the 1.4 TFLOP from its older cousin. It can also handle up to 326GB of memory in just one second, which means that details 4K games and 4K content should run smoothly.

XBox One X offers a dual-storage design. It combines a faster running 8GB flash drive and a 1TB traditional hard drive. XBox One X speeds up operation by using the fast 8GB flash drive to laod the operating system, leading to a better user experience.

Pricing and Availability

The XBox One X is expected starting on November 7, 2017 at a price of $499. We currently have no information about pricing and availability in Nigeria and Kenya. When available, you can buy the gaming console at leading online stores in your country. XBox One X price in Nigeria is expected from 190,000 Naira to 390,000 Naira. In Kenya, price starts at 65,499 KSh.
