Luis Enrique’s side suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League earlier this week that heightened Barcelona’s need to strengthen this summer.

They were caught out at the back on numerous occasions while their attacking players failed to threaten Juve’s backline.

Paulo Dybala, who recently signed a new long-term deal with Juve, scored twice for the Italian outfit.

And his performance certainly caught Xavi’s eye.

“(Dybala) He is the most talented Juventus player,” Xavi told Globoesporte.

“Higuaín can also score at any time, but I think his most talented footballer is Dybala currently.

“It would be a good option for Barca in the future.”

Barcelona are thought to be chasing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti – another player Xavi would give his blessing to if his former side managed to sign him.

“Verratti would be ideal for Barca. Of course Rakitic is doing an incredible job, very good,” Xavi added.

“I think he has adapted very well to Barcelona’s football. But yes, Verratti has the conditions to play in Barcelona without any doubt. And I think it is very similar to the conditions I have as a player.”

Xavi, who made over 500 league appearances for the Catalan giants, also believes the club are suffering from Davi Alves’ departure after the Brazilian left for Juve last summer.

He added: ”Obviously I’d get Dani Alves back.

“He’s decided to leave, but for me he’s the best right-back there is in the world, and Barca really miss him.”
