The Lagos State Sports Council was on Monday thrown into mourning following the sudden death of one of their staff.

It was gathered that there was pandemonium at the sports council at Yaba area of the state, when workers who arrived the office after the weekend, discovered the lifeless body of one of the female accountants lying on the floor in the office.

Naij.com correspondent learnt that the female accountant, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, came to the office early on Monday morning but shortly after, her lifeless body was found in her office. “I went to the Lagos State sports council early on Monday morning for my daily training but I was turned back. The gate to the council was locked and they said nobody including athletes were allowed inside .

When I asked what the problem was, I was informed that one of their female accountants came to the office that morning but she slumped and died in her office. I learnt that it was her colleagues who saw her corpse and raised alarm. I do not know the woman but those who claimed to know her said she was an amiable person. I left the place and went to the National Stadium to work-out before going home”

The Lagos state police command spokesperson DSP Kenneth Nwosu when contacted over the incident said the death has not been reported to the police.
