Renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Ogunleye Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has disclosed that she does not charge artists for featuring on their songs.
During a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the talented artist, who recently became a mother, opened up about her approach to collaborations, highlighting her selective process and preference for songs she genuinely likes.
Simi expressed that she has never charged for a feature and emphasized that her decision to collaborate on a song is primarily based on her personal affinity for the music.
“Till this moment, I have never charged for a feature. For me to do a feature I have to really like it,” Simi stated.
“I have to like the song. If I like the song, give me half a day, I am done. If I don’t like the song I will most likely say no.”
She further clarified that her decision is not personal and that she is capable of declining collaborations without any animosity.
“It’s not personal. I can take a ‘No.’ Things are not personal, it’s just what it is,” she added.
