Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has completed a loan move to Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray, marking a significant transfer in European football.

Galatasaray confirmed that the 24-year-old will earn a net salary of €6 million during his time with the club.

Osimhen, who will don the number 45 jersey for the Istanbul giants, joins Galatasaray after a successful stint with Napoli, where he has been a key player since his arrival from Ligue 1 club Lille in 2020.

Napoli, however, retains an option to extend Osimhen’s contract until June 2027 if a permanent transfer is not finalized by next summer.

This clause provides Napoli with a stronger bargaining position in any future negotiations.

Notably, the release clause for the Nigerian forward is expected to drop from the current €130 million to a range of €75-80 million next year, potentially making him more accessible to other top European clubs.

During his tenure with Napoli, Osimhen made a significant impact, scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 competitive appearances for the Italian side.

His prolific form helped Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years during the 2022-2023 season.
