Vice President Namadi Sambo was
booed during the 40th Anniversary
of Emir Of Zazzau in his hometown of
Zaria, Kaduna state.

The incident occurred during the 40th
year anniversary of Alhaji Shehu Idris
on the Zazzau’s throne; a senior
military officer confirmed the incident
to SaharaReorters anonymously.

According to the source, Sambo arrived
the occasion late shortly before closing
prayers, an upset crowd started
chanting ‘we don’t want you, we don’t
want you’ upon sighting Mr. Sambo
arriving the venue. The agitated crowd
also chanted some words against
President Goodluck Jonathan.

Despite plea by the organizers of the
event who tried convincing the crowd to
leave, the crowd remained in the open
field and continued with their protest.
The Vice President and a retinue of
security aides and other dignitaries
entered the palace before the crowd
finally dispersed.

Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of
Kaduna state has earlier spoken on
behalf of Mr. Sambo announcing release
of financial compensation for victims of
post election violence in 2011.
