Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has expelled two students, Miss Opemiposi Precious Bolaji and Miss Genesis Osaro, for assaulting a female colleague, Miss Gloria Ajayi, in a viral video. The video showed Bolaji beating Ajayi with a stick, threatening to inflict bodily harm over a love affair dispute.

The university’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee found the two students guilty of misconduct and breach of their matriculation oath, leading to their immediate expulsion. Ajayi, who was seen being beaten in the video, was exonerated, while two other students who recorded and posted the video on social media were warned.

The university condemned the violence and encouraged anyone who witnesses or experiences harassment, abuse, or violence to report it immediately. The Ekiti State Police Command has also begun a discreet investigation into the incident, describing the act as inhumane and unacceptable.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has directed the Ikere Area Commander to liaise with the university management to ensure the perpetrator is identified, investigated, and faces legal consequences. The public has been urged to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their hands.
