Unai Emery reveals why Mesut Ozil did not play against BATE Borisov

Unai Emery, Arsenal manager have revealed why Mesut Ozil was not included in the squad to face BATE Borisov, in their Europa League match.

Emery stated that every player, have to work in other to gain an opportunity to play for the team

Arsenal lost 1-0 against Bate Borisov in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 clash at Borisov Arena.

But, in 85 minute, Alexandre Lacazette was sent off for elbowing Aleksandar Filipovic, thereby reducing Arsenal to 10-men.

Speaking after the match, he said: “Every player, first is that every work to be ok to play”.

“Today, the players that are here, we can win with these players and we deserved that. Last week for example, we won and we played with the same players”.

“Today, for me, the performance is no different. We deserved to win but football is like that.”
