UK commits $100m to finance Women enterprises in Nigeria

As part of drive to bridge gender break in businesses, the United Kingdom suggests it is delivering a $100m fund to support daughters-possessed enterprises in Nigeria.

The UK administration pronounced the $100 heap fund programme is started through the First Bank of Nigeria to provide direct capital to women-possessed enterprises.

Catriona Laing, British high agent to Nigeria, established this on Wednesday at the gender and addition summit organised for one Policy Innovation Center, (PIC), in Abuja on Wednesday.The top was themed, ‘joining the dots for a gender-inclusive society’.

Laing pronounced the asset was part of the exercise of the UK’s three ‘Es’ projects, namely: experiencing girls, empowering women, and ending intensity against women and girls.

“The UK has three fields focusing on gender. The three ‘Es’ contained experiencing adolescents, empowering women and conclusion intensity against wives and adolescents,” she said.

“The UK has processed on instruction for decades immediately, specifically in north-east Nigeria place we have backed 1.4 heap additional young women going to school.

“On the authorization side, we currently launched a $100 heap programme through the First bank of Nigeria that will [determine] direct capital particularly to women-possessed enterprises.” Laing further said gender rights are basic civil rights and all is named to ruling class.
