Transcorp Power Limited, a subsidiary of Transcorp Group, celebrated its 10th-anniversary milestone on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

This significant occasion marks a decade of unwavering commitment to powering progress and making a positive impact in society.

Transcorp Power Limited emerged from Transcorp Group’s dedication to fulfilling its purpose of improving lives and transforming Africa by strategically investing in sectors that drive economic growth. In 2013, this commitment materialized with the investment in the 972MW Ughelli Power Plant.

Over the past decade, Transcorp Power Limited has experienced impressive growth, solidifying its position as one of the leading power companies in Nigeria. Earlier this year, the company achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first power generation company to be discharged from post-privatization monitoring by the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE). This discharge followed the successful satisfaction of post-acquisition plan (PAP) compliance requirements.

Peter Ikenga, the Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Power Limited, expressed his appreciation for the company’s journey, characterized by resilience, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to powering progress. He noted that the 10th-anniversary celebration is not just a reflection on past successes but also a launchpad for future endeavors.

“As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Transcorp Power Limited, we reflect on a decade of impactful contributions to the energy sector. I am immensely proud of our team’s dedication and the milestones we’ve achieved,” said Ikenga.

Throughout the last ten years, Transcorp Power has actively engaged with its host community through various initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods. Notable projects include a vocational skills acquisition program that empowered over 200 recipients and the adoption of the Transcorp Staff School in Ughelli, guaranteeing quality education for both community children and employees.

“We remain committed to driving positive change and being a catalyst for sustainable development. Thanks to our team, stakeholders, and the communities we serve for being integral parts of this incredible journey. Here’s to the next decade of powering possibilities and lighting up the path to a brighter future,” Ikenga added.

The company recently clinched several prestigious awards, including Leading Power Generation Company Nigeria 2023 (International Business Magazine Awards 2023), Leading Power Generation Company Nigeria 2023, and Most Sustainable Power Company Nigeria 2023 (2023 World Business Outlook Awards).
