President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigeria’s political leadership to direct more resources and policy initiatives toward addressing the needs of poor and vulnerable citizens during a Ramadan fast-breaking event at the State House in Abuja on Monday evening.

While hosting governors, Federal Executive Council (FEC) members, Service Chiefs, and select heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the President emphasized the importance of selfless leadership focused on public welfare.

Tinubu highlighted that political leaders’ efforts play a crucial role in meeting citizens’ expectations, particularly during challenging economic times. He expressed satisfaction with existing people-centered policies that have begun showing positive outcomes in human development metrics and economic indicators.

The President credited the progress in economic reforms to the collective work of his cabinet members and effective collaboration with leaders at the state and local government levels.

The Ramadan gathering provided an opportunity for reflection on governance priorities while maintaining the spiritual significance of the holy month for Muslims, which emphasizes charity and concern for those in need.

This appeal for greater attention to vulnerable populations comes amid ongoing economic challenges facing many Nigerians, as the administration continues implementing various reform programs across sectors.
