Tinubu to Visit Enugu, Commission Key Projects Today

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Enugu State today, marking his first state visit to the southeastern state since assuming office.

In a statement released on Friday, Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the Enugu State Government, announced that the president will inaugurate several major projects undertaken by the state administration.

“The Enugu State Government is happy to announce the first state visit to the state by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Saturday, January 4, 2025,” the statement read.

During the visit, Tinubu will commission projects including:

- Advertisement -

  • 30 completed and equipped Enugu Smart Green Schools, part of the 260 under construction across the state’s 260 wards.
  • 60 completed Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, also part of the 260 being built across the state’s wards.
  • 90 completed urban roads in Enugu City.
  • A state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre.
  • 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras to enhance security operations.
  • The newly completed multi-auditorium and multi-functional Enugu International Conference Centre.

The state government has expressed excitement over the president’s visit, highlighting the significance of the commissioned projects in advancing education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure development.

Tinubu, who has been in Lagos since December 18, 2024, for the Christmas and New Year celebrations, will depart for Enugu early this morning.
