Tinubu Submits Names of North West Development Commission Governing Board Nominees to Senate

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of the inaugural Governing Board members for the North West Development Commission (NWDC) to the Senate for confirmation, Okay.ng reports.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, this move follows President Tinubu’s signing of the NWDC Bill into law on July 24, marking a significant step in establishing the commission.

The nominees for the Governing Board include:

  • Chairman: Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa)
  • MD/CEO: Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano)

Other board members are:

  • Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto)
  • Hon. Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi)
  • Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara)
  • Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna)
  • Hon. Engr. Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano)
  • Shamsu Sule (Katsina)
  • Nasidi Ali (Jigawa)

These individuals are expected to bring their diverse experiences to help drive the commission’s mission of advancing development in the North-West region.
