President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed a thorough investigation into the tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday night near Karu bridge along the Abuja-Keffi expressway, resulting in multiple accidents and the loss of lives.

In a statement released on Thursday, March 20, 2025, by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragic incident, which happened during peak traffic hours.

The President also ordered priority treatment for those injured in the explosion, directing that they receive urgent medical attention at various healthcare facilities in the capital.

Additionally, Tinubu instructed security agencies, especially those responsible for road safety, to intensify monitoring of traffic at the entry and exit points of Abuja to prevent future occurrences.
