President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the foremost Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization.

Azuta-Mbata, who represented Rivers East in the Senate from 1999 to 2007, was elected during a meeting of the group in Enugu on Friday.

In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Tinubu commended the group for a successful leadership transition and urged the new leaders to build on the foundation laid by their predecessors.

The President acknowledged the significance of socio-cultural organizations like Ohanaeze Ndigbo in fostering nation-building and reiterated his commitment to promoting dialogue among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic nationalities.
