President Bola Tinubu joined other Muslim faithful at the Dodan Barracks Mosque in Lagos for the Eid prayers.

The prayer ground saw the presence of notable dignitaries, including the deputy governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, and former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, among others.

During the Eid-El-Fitr prayer, the Chief Imam of Lagos, Shiekh Suleiman Abdussallah, emphasized the significance of the festivity, promoting values of sacrifice, unity, and tolerance among Muslim believers.

Following the prayers, President Tinubu spoke to journalists, encouraging Nigerians to maintain resilience, patriotism, and hope amidst challenges. He underscored the importance of preserving the integrity of the country and fostering a spirit of optimism for the future.

Echoing similar sentiments, state governors across Nigeria issued messages of forgiveness, peace, and tolerance, urging citizens to pray for the nation’s well-being and for leaders to govern with integrity and fear of God.

The Eid-El-Fitr celebration, which commenced after the sighting of the moon on March 11, culminated in a three-day public holiday declared by the Federal Government, extending from Tuesday to Thursday.

Okay.ng reports that the occasion signifies the end of the Ramadan fast, a period of spiritual reflection, fasting, and increased devotion among Muslims worldwide.
