woman who lied that she was raped

A woman of the United Kingdom, was arrested after she lied about being raped by 2 men.

20-year-old Nicole Richess of Bournemouth, falsely accused two army soldiers of rape because she was ashamed of the fact that she had a threesome.Richess was allegedly drunk when she had a threesome with the soldiers at her friend’s house. The next day, her boyfriend, Alex Ganter, heard rumors about her affair and confronted her about it.

Richess panicked and was too embarrassed to tell Ganter that she cheated on him. Instead, she told him that the
two men, ages 23 and 24, forced her into it.

Ganter convinced her partner of 3 years, to file a police report of rape. Richess cried as she recounted the rape to detectives.

Her deceptive and web of lies ended in the arrest of the two soldiers. After interviewing the soldiers and her friends, investigators learned that the sex acts were consensual.

Richess was arrested, charged and convicted of perverting the course of justice. She was sentenced to 2 and a half years in prison.

Prosecutor Fern Russell said there had been considerable impact on the soldiers as they had already undergone disciplinary proceedings over the incident.
