Nigerian singer, Teni has taken to her Twitter handle to make an appreciation post thanking the federal government for the national award she received on Tuesday.

Special thanks to God for this, the federal government my family and my fans for this honor. Member of the Order of the Niger – MON pic.twitter.com/6FYeKZOokg

Okay.ng understands that Teni’s post is coming after she trended for hours on social media, following a video showing how she collected the award from President Muhammadu Buhari went viral.

Some Nigerians had criticized her for not respecting the president by hand shaking him, while others said they saw nothing wrong in how she collected the award.
