Nigerian singer and global music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is set to make history by headlining the first-ever halftime show at the FIFA Club World Cup final. The landmark event will take place on July 13, 2025, at the iconic MetLife Stadium in New York City.
Tems will share the stage with renowned international artists Colombian superstar J Balvin and American pop icon Doja Cat, bringing together a diverse and vibrant lineup that reflects the global spirit of the tournament. This unprecedented halftime show is being produced in collaboration with Global Citizen and will be broadcast live and free on DAZN.com, enabling football fans worldwide to experience the spectacle in real time.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Tems said, “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Muyiwa Awoniyi, a member of Tems’ management team, confirmed the announcement and expressed gratitude toward FIFA and Global Citizen leadership. “Pleased to announce that @temsbaby will be performing at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 on Sunday 13th July 2025 at the Metlife Stadium. The event is not only a musical celebration but also a philanthropic initiative. Global Citizen revealed that the halftime show aims to raise over $100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports education programs and FIFA’s Football for Schools initiative across more than 200 countries. Additionally, $1 from every ticket sold to the FIFA Club World Cup matches in the United States will be donated to this fund.
