Midfielder Mikel Agu has been ruled out of the games against Algeria and Argentina after picking up and undisclosed injury in Nigeria’s training base in Morocco on Wednesday.

The Bursaspor of Turkey player was part of the players named for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria and the international friendly against Argentina, but will now miss both games after suffering an injury as the Super Eagles trained in Rabat.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are to fly out to Constantine today ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria with Nigeria having booked their place at the world’s biggest football showpiece next year.

“We will travel out in the morning tomorrow (Thursday), the finer details are being worked out,” Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye was quoted by ScoreNigeria.

“The flight to Algeria will be about an hour.”

He also reported that goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi had his first training with the rest of the squad on Wednesday evening after he was delayed from his base in South Africa by a flight hitch.
