Super Eagles’ Coach Jose Peseiro Unveils Starting Lineup for AFCON Clash Against Equatorial Guinea

Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, has revealed the starting lineup for the much-anticipated clash against the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The strategic selection aims to secure a decisive victory for the Super Eagles and advance in the prestigious tournament.

Star striker Victor Osimhen has been entrusted with leading the attack, supported by the dynamic duo of Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon, forming a formidable three-man attack that promises offensive prowess.

In a notable change, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been benched in favor of Stanley Nwabili, who is set to make his first competitive debut for the Super Eagles.

This adjustment in goalkeeping is complemented by the inclusion of Alhassan Yusuf in the midfield, injecting fresh energy and strategy into the team.

The full starting XI for the Super Eagles against Equatorial Guinea is as follows:

  • Goalkeeper: Stanley Nwabili
  • Defenders: William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi, Ola Aina
  • Midfielders: Alhassan Yusuf, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi
