Sule Kazaure Takes Over As 17th NYSC DG

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Sule Kazaure on Monday morning took over as the 17th DG of the scheme, promising to priotise welfare of corps members and the staff.

Kazaure, who was speaking at the handing over ceremony in Abuja acknowledged that the tasks ahead are huge, but with unity of purpose, they could overcome.

“I know that the tasks ahead are enormous and the road is rough, but with unity of purpose we will make progress,” he said.

Earlier, the immediate past DG of NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, said their agitation to have the monthly allowance of the serving corps members would soon be yelding the desired result.

He explained that the leadership of the scheme had written series of letter to the federal government to the effect, and that “there seems to be the ray of light at the end of turnnel”.

Olawumi urged staff to extend the cooperation he enjoyed during his stay in the scheme to the new DG to achieve the desired result.

Olawumi took over the NYSC leadership on 6 January 2014.
