This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to check the 2023 WAEC GCE Result for the Second Series Release.

What is the WAEC GCE?

The WAEC GCE is an examination conducted by the West African Examinations Council for private candidates. The results for the 2023 November/December WAEC GCE Second Series are expected to be released on or before Monday, 5th February 2024.

How to Check the WAEC GCE Result Online

Follow these steps to check your result online:

- Advertisement -

  1. Visit the WAEC result-checking portal at www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number e.g., 4123456789).
  3. Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year e.g., 2023.
  4. Select the Type of Examination i.e., PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT.
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  6. Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card.
  7. Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.

How to Check the WAEC GCE Result via SMS

You can also check your 2023 WAEC GCE result via SMS. Use the short code format below:

  • Send WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to short-code 32327 (MTN, Airtel & Glo subscribers). For example, WAEC*4250101001*123456789012*2023.
  • Ensure you adhere strictly to the format above. There should be no space in the message.
  • Wait for your result to be delivered to your phone via SMS. (SMS Cost N30 Only).

What is a WAEC Withheld Result?

Some of the results may be withheld due to various reported cases of examination malpractice1. WAEC will investigate the report, and if the candidates/school were found culpable, their results will be canceled. If they are not culpable, then their results will be released.
