How much is Starlink subscription price in Nigeria?

The price of Starlink subscription in Nigeria consists of a one-time equipment fee of $599 (about ₦569,942) plus monthly subscription fees of $60 (about ₦57,089). The equipment includes a dish, a modem, a power supply, and a mounting tripod. The shipping and handling of Starlink to Nigeria was free initially but ₦16,700 is now charged.

How fast is Starlink internet in Nigeria?

Starlink promises to deliver download speeds of up to 240 Mbps, though many users report an average of 150 Mbps. This is much faster than most of the existing internet services in Nigeria, which offer speeds between 10 Mbps and 60 Mbps. Starlink also claims to have a low latency of 20 to 40 milliseconds, which means less lag and delay in online activities such as streaming, video calls, online gaming, and more.

Does Starlink have a data cap or is it unlimited download?

Starlink has a data cap of 1TB per month, which applies between the hours of 7am and 11pm. This means that users can use up to 1TB of data during these peak hours without any reduction in speed or quality. However, if users exceed this limit, their connection speed will be throttled. Between 11pm and 7am, there is no data cap and users can enjoy unlimited download. According to SpaceX, only about 10% of Starlink users ever hit the 1TB consumption point monthly, so most users have nothing to worry about.

Does Starlink use a SIM card?

Starlink does not use a SIM card. Users do not need a SIM card to access the service. Starlink works by connecting to a network of low-Earth orbit satellites via a dish and modem. The dish can be installed on the roof, balcony, or any open space with a clear view of the sky.
