As the new year unfolds, Spotify’s beloved Playlist in a Bottle is making a comeback, offering users the chance to rekindle their connection with the songs that defined their musical journey in the past year.

Playlist in a Bottle is an engaging and interactive in-app experience designed to help users capture their current musical preferences and create a musical time capsule that they can open one year later.

Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, Spotify’s Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, expressed excitement about bringing back the feature.

“Last year, around this time, we introduced the Playlist in the Bottle, a fun feature that gave Spotify users a chance to capture the songs that resonated with them then at that moment in time and seal it away for one year. It’s now time to unlock their Playlist in a Bottle from 2023 and create a new one for next year as a way to connect with their musical selves from the past,” she said.

For those who participated in the previous edition, the moment has come to unveil your 2023 time capsule. Accessing your Playlist in a Bottle is as simple as tapping on the link at spotify.com/playlistinabottle on your mobile device.

Revisit the tunes that shaped your last year and reminisce about the musical journey you experienced.

Additionally, users can create a new Playlist in a Bottle to be opened in 2025. The process is straightforward—visit the same site on your mobile phone, select your favorite songs, and create a new musical time capsule.

This experience is open to all Spotify listeners, whether it’s their first time participating or if they’ve made a playlist in the past.

The Playlist in a Bottle feature is available until January 31, 2024, allowing users to curate their selections before the deadline.
