Nigerian songstress Simi has shared the serendipitous story of how she met her husband, fellow musician Adekunle Gold, shedding light on a twist of fate that defied her initial expectations.

In a candid interview on the ‘Tea With Tay’ podcast, Simi recounted her journey from acquaintance to spouse, revealing that she never envisioned marrying a fellow musician.

The award-winning singer disclosed that she first encountered Adekunle Gold in his capacity as a graphics designer, unaware of his musical pursuits at the time.

She initially perceived him as a dedicated fan, unaware of the profound connection that would later blossom between them.

“I didn’t know my husband was singing when I met him because I already said I cannot marry a singer. I thought he was even a fan. He used to do this ‘King of Photoshop’ that time,” Simi recounted.

Reflecting on their initial interaction, Simi revealed that Adekunle Gold had reached out to her via Facebook, a message she initially overlooked.

However, despite her initial hesitation, she sensed a potential connection and foresaw a positive impact on her life.

“He sent me a message on Facebook but I never saw it nor did I reply. I sensed that he would be good for me,” she added.
