Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye Receives Honorary Citizenship of Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, warmly welcomed the visiting President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on Thursday, conferring upon him the honorary citizenship of Abuja as a gesture of goodwill and diplomatic camaraderie.

Okay.ng reports that President Faye is in Nigeria on an official visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike received the Senegalese President upon his arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, acting on behalf of President Tinubu.

The minister presented President Faye with the symbolic key to the city of Abuja, a token that grants him all the rights and privileges of a citizen.

According to the minister, the key conferred on the Senegalese President all the rights and privileges of a citizen.

It also served as a mark of respect for the strong friendship and cordial relationship between Nigeria and Senegal.
