The Nigerian Senate has postponed the screening of President Bola Tinubu’s newly appointed ministers from Tuesday to Wednesday.

This announcement was made by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, in a statement released on Tuesday.

Lado explained that the delay was to allow all seven ministerial nominees to complete their necessary documentation.

Last week, President Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet, sacking five ministers and nominating seven new individuals to fill various ministerial roles. Among the appointees, Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was named to head the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Other key appointments include Nentawe Yilwatda, who will replace the suspended Betta Edu as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, who has been named the new Minister of Labour and Employment.

Additionally, Idi Mukhtar Maiha has been appointed as the Minister of Livestock Development, while Yusuf Abdullahi Ata will serve as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development. The seventh nominee, Suwaiba Said Ahmad, has been selected as the Minister of State for Education.
