Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Shehu Sani, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his support of the Saudi Arabia-led coalition against terrorism.

He urged Nigerians to encourage the initiative in order to defeat the deathly menace, which posed great threat to the world.

Sani, who is the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, in a statement yesterday, said that it is imperative for Nigeria to support the Saudi drive against international terrorism.

According to him, “the proposed Saudi Arabia-led coalition against terrorism as backed by President Buhari is a step in the right direction and the coalition is a commendable step towards confronting and combatting the menace of terror globally.”

He added: “ISIL is the source and inspiration for terror groups worldwide and there is no alternative better than the Saudi initiative. The Saudi initiative provides the opportunity for non-aligned nations to tackle the scourge from its roots.”
