Senate President Bukola Saraki on Wednesday sworn-in Ademola Adeleke as the Senator representing Osun West in the Upper Legislative Chamber.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday announced Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as the winner of the Osun West Senatorial by-election.

The election was held in 10 local government areas making up the district.

The winner, who is the younger brother of the late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, had 97,480 votes to defeat a former senator, Mudashiru Hussein of the APC, who polled 66,116 votes.

This is following the refusal of Bukola Saraki to obey the Federal High Court judgement of February 27, 2017 that ordered the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East in the National Assembly, Bassey Akpan, to vacate his seat immediately and for the immediate swearing in of Bassey Etim.

Senator Ademola Adeleke takes the Oath of office as Senator representing Osun West.
