During the inauguration of the Lagos State Building Control Agency Building in Ikeja, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu addressed the recent controversy surrounding the procurement record released by the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency. The governor affirmed his administration’s stance on transparency and openness to criticism.

Responding to the open letter from the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Congress in Lagos, Funso Doherty, challenging Sanwo-Olu regarding substantial expenditures, the governor assured the public of the government’s commitment to continue publishing its spending for public scrutiny.

“We are committed, responsible, and transparent. Criticism is appreciated, and it’s essential for our governance. We welcome scrutiny because it’s the right way to conduct affairs in the state,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

Acknowledging that mistakes might occur in the procurement process, he emphasized the dedication of his team and the commitment of civil servants to serving the people of Lagos. He highlighted the importance of responsible governance and affirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to serving the state.
