Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally announced his intentions to quit the European champions and return to the Premier league.

Ronaldo , 32, made the declaration while he stood trial on charges of defrauding the Spanish taxman of out of €14.7 million.

The Portugal international’s future has been the subject of speculation after reports emerged that he wanted to force through a move to former club Manchester United in the wake of the damning tax charges. Spanish daily Cadena SER reports that he finally made his intentions known while appearing in court earlier this week.

“In England, I never had these problems, that’s why I want to go back there ,” Ronaldo reportedly told the judge.

“I always paid my taxes, always. In

England and in Spain. And I always paid.

“As you know, I cannot hide anything, it would be ridiculous on my part to do such a thing. I am an open book.

“You don’t need to do anything but type my name into Google and everything about Cristiano comes out. For example, Forbes magazine releases all of my earnings”

Ronaldo , who earlier told Judge Monica Gomez Ferrer that he was on trial because of his name, said he completely trusted his advisors on financial matters, Goal writes.

“I paid everything in 2014. I don’t understand anything about this, I only went to school until my sixth year and the only thing I know how to do is play football well. When my advisors tell me, ‘Cris, it’s okay’ then I believe them.

“I trust my advisors and they are the best. I pay them well and they do good things and I leave everything in their hands.”

Ronaldo had reportedly agreed to remain with the La Liga champions for another season, but fears abound that his time in Spain is up with Los Blancos on the verge of signing Monaco Youngster Kylian Mbappe as a longtime replacement for the four-time ballon d’Or winner.
