Richard Tallen, Son of Former Women Affairs Minister, Dies at 42

Richard Tallen, the only son of Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, has passed away at the age of 42.

The family confirmed his death in a statement on Sunday, revealing that he died on Saturday, October 5, after being hospitalized at Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja.

According to the family, Richard had been placed on oxygen in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Friday night, but the exact cause of death was not immediately known.

The Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA), Richard’s alma mater, also confirmed the tragic news, stating that he died after a brief illness. “OBITUARY: On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr. Richard Adamu Tallen,” the association wrote on Facebook.

“He passed on on Saturday 5th October in Abuja after a brief illness, leaving behind a beloved family, including his wife and children. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him, may the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA RIP. Amen.”

Richard, a graduate of Computer Science from a university in the United States, is survived by his wife and three children.
