The Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) community is mourning the loss of Rev. Fola Achudume, the wife of the General Overseer, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday.

The announcement was made by Pastor Adeoye Adeyanju, the church’s Assistant General Overseer, during Sunday service in Abeokuta.

Rev. Achudume, who was set to turn 56 on September 6, was remembered fondly by the congregation. In a statement posted on the church’s Facebook page by David Lawrence-Achudume, the church expressed deep sorrow and gratitude for her life.

“With heavy hearts and gratitude to God, we announce the transition of our esteemed Lead Pastor, Rev Fola Achudume unto glory. Her passing occurred on Saturday, August 3, 2024,” the statement read.

The church highlighted Rev. Achudume’s roles as a teacher, prophet, pastor, mentor, role model, and mother, acknowledging her profound impact on countless lives. “She touched countless lives, inspiring many to grow in their faith and walk closely with the Lord,” the statement continued.

The Victory Life Bible Church family, along with her spiritual children worldwide, expressed their appreciation for her impactful life and commitment to faith, prayer, and steadfastness. “May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.

Tunde Oladunjoye, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, also expressed his grief, describing Rev. Achudume’s passing as “the worst news of the year.” He shared his deep connection with the Achudume family and lamented the loss.

“It is a family that I am very close to, and I am already on my way to their house to register my condolence. So hard to believe! So saddening! My consolation is that she has gone to join the saints,” he remarked.
