The Nigerian Police Force has rejected the recruitment list released by the Police Service Commission (PSC) due to alleged irregularities and corruption. The police claim that the list contains names of unqualified individuals who did not apply or failed the recruitment tests, and that some candidates were shortlisted after engaging in financial dealings and corrupt practices.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the published list revealed several anomalies, including names of persons who did not apply or participate in the recruitment exercise, candidates who failed the Computer Based Test or physical screening, and those disqualified due to medical unfitness.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has written to the PSC chairman objecting to the list and citing the irregularities discovered. The police have dissociated themselves from the published list and are demanding a transparent and credible review of the recruitment process to ensure the selection of qualified and competent candidates.

The police spokesman emphasized that the force bears the brunt of recruiting unqualified individuals and that a thorough review is necessary to ensure a successful and fruitful recruitment process. The police are committed to ensuring the process is reviewed in line with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration on police reform.
