Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto, fondly known as Iya Oyo, has died after a brief illness, Okay.ng reports.

She was the wife of the late Oba Buhari Oloto and a prominent figure in the social scene of Lagos for over 40 years.

Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto was not just a socialite but also a successful fabric merchant, having sold fabrics for over 30 years.

Her journey in the fabric business started in the 80s, and she had been a familiar face in the ministries, selling clothes.

Her dedication and hard work led her to open her first shop at Mosalashi, Jimoh in Lagos Island.

In recognition of her contributions and good behavior, Alhaja Alimotu Sadia Oloto was conferred with the title of Yeye-Oba of Iboroland in Ogun State on Saturday, 27th of May, 2017. The ceremony was a grand affair, with the King of Fuji, King Wasiu Ayinde, providing the music.
