The presidency has officially dismissed rumors circulating on social media and other news platforms that President Bola Tinubu has replaced the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu.

O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Digital Media and New Media, categorically denied these claims, describing them as “fake news.”

“Disregard any fake news making the rounds about the replacement of the INEC Chairman,” Ogra stated, adding that any authentic announcement regarding such matters would come through official channels such as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s office.

The unfounded rumors had gained traction across various social media platforms, but the presidency’s statement confirms there is no truth to these claims.
