Goodluck-Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan met with religious and traditional leaders in Adamawa State on Saturday, March 14, making it his second visit to the state in about two weeks.

The president who arrived at the state capital, Yola at about 12pm asked for the support leaders ahead of the presidential elections holding on March 28. He met with the Lamido of Adamawa shortly after his arrival.

According to Premium times, a source at the palace said the president had a closed-door meeting with some traditional rulers in the Lamido of Adamawa’s palace for about an hour before heading to the Adamawa government house.

In a meeting with the state governor Bala Ngilari, his deputy, and other key PDP members in the state including PDP Governorship candidate Nuhu Ribadu; Mr Jonathan addressed some issues that originated after the party primaries in the state.

The president appealed to all the aggrieved members to work together to ensure the party records success in the forthcoming elections.

Mr. Jonathan’s first visit to Adamawa after a long time was February 26, where he met with the troops fighting Boko Haram, and victims displaced from their communities – following heavy criticism from Nigerians.

He was criticised for not visiting Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, the three states most ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency.

The president’s second visit was however solely to canvass support for the elections which is about two weeks away.
