Renowned Hausa political singer, Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, has directed scathing criticism at former President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing him of leaving behind a crippled economy for President Bola Tinubu.

Rarara, who gained prominence for his support and musical endorsements of the Buhari administration, expressed deep regret for his previous allegiance during a press conference in Kano on Thursday.

During the press briefing, Rarara questioned the silence of the current administration regarding the alleged mismanagement and recklessness of the previous government.

He emphasized the urgent need for transparency and honesty in addressing the economic challenges faced by the nation, urging the Tinubu administration to disclose the true extent of the previous administration’s shortcomings.

“The current administration must not build its foundation on a bed of lies. It is essential to expose the truth and the damage that was inflicted before President Buhari’s departure. The consequences of concealing this truth will be severe,” Rarara asserted.

The singer, who was a vocal supporter of the Buhari-led government, expressed remorse for his previous endorsement, citing the hope that the former president would rectify the damages caused by the previous administration.

Responding to inquiries regarding his contributions to the ruling party’s success, Rarara stressed his desire for recognition and involvement in the decision-making process, including the recommendation of candidates for ministerial positions.

He emphasized his significant contributions to the political landscape in the North, particularly in the context of President Tinubu’s recent victory.
