Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is set to release a new extended play (EP) titled “Ogo Wanted,” drawing inspiration from his recent legal entanglements with the Ogun State government.

The announcement comes on the heels of a series of confrontations between the singer and state authorities.

The controversy began on February 5, 2025, when Portable allegedly led an assault on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development at his bar in Sango-Ota.

The officials were reportedly attacked while performing their duties, leading the Ogun State Police Command to declare Portable wanted on February 18, 2025.

In response, the singer surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba on February 19, 2025, before being transferred to the Ogun State Police headquarters.

During his court appearance, Portable faced multiple charges, including conspiracy, assault, and possession of dangerous weapons. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail set at ₦20 million.

The court also imposed restrictions, prohibiting him from discussing the ongoing case on social media. The trial is scheduled to continue on March 5, 2025.

Despite these legal challenges, Portable has remained active on social media, using his platforms to promote his upcoming EP.

In a recent Instagram post, he shared a teaser for “Ogo Wanted,” accompanied by the caption: “Ogo Wanted. Music money pass Yahoo. Zeh Nation, many inspiration.”

This statement underscores his belief in the legitimacy and profitability of his music career over illicit activities.

The announcement of “Ogo Wanted” has elicited a range of reactions from fans and the public. Some supporters admire Portable’s resilience and ability to channel personal experiences into his art, while others express concern over his ongoing legal issues.

The EP is anticipated to feature Portable’s characteristic energetic style and candid storytelling, potentially addressing his recent experiences and controversies.

Portable’s rise to fame has been marked by both his musical talent and a series of public controversies. He gained widespread recognition with the release of “Zazoo Zehh” in 2021, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.

Since then, his career has been a blend of musical success and contentious incidents, including disputes with fellow artists and confrontations with law enforcement.
