The death of Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent lawyer, political analyst, and APC chieftain, has sent shockwaves across Nigeria’s political landscape.

The news was made public on Tuesday by Okezie J. Atañi, an APC supporter, who shared the announcement on social media. The exact cause of death has not been disclosed, leaving many in suspense.

Onokpasa was a key member of the APC’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, where he contributed to the party’s publicity efforts. He was widely recognized for his passionate defense of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

However, in a recent twist, he openly withdrew his backing for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election, citing increasing insecurity, economic difficulties, and alleged neglect of APC members.
