Following the of investigation of the alleged rape of women and girls in Internally Displaced Persons’ camps in Borno State.

Two policemen, three soldiers, a prison warder, a Nigerian Air Force personnel, two members of the Civilian JTF and a staff member of the state ministry of agriculture has been arrested.

Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, who broke the news at the IGP Conference in Abuja, said any of them found guilty would be dismissed and prosecuted.

He said the military and police as well as other affected security agencies were involved in a joint operation to ensure the thorough investigation of the matter.

“We are going to conduct a thorough investigation and if anyone is found guilty we will dismiss him then take him to court,” he said.
