The second scheduled interrogation of the president of the Nigeria Labor Congress, Joe Ajaero, by the police did not take place on Thursday after Ajaero and NLC secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja, who was also invited, failed to appear at the NLC police headquarters in Abuja.

However, a source close to the situation said that the leaders of the NLC have written to the investigators that they will not be available for Thursday.

“They didn’t show up. I know they wrote to those handling their case that they won’t come today. They asked them to wait for them on September 25,” said the source.

The lawyer of the NLC President, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), who accompanied Ajaero to the police headquarters for his first appearance on August 29, had said on Wednesday that the leaders of The union may seek updates.
